per-tag settings at best. but honestly discoverability ought to be more curated than a raw feed of everyone who used a word (because that's trivial to misuse). tags work for categorization (finding your posts about a specific subject), but fall flat for discoverability (finding randos posts about that subject)
we need something in the middle to curate the posts that make it through to it's subscribers. groups are the obvious answer, but so can "curators", who can watch a raw post feed and only boost the posts that pass their vibe check onwards
